Application for Charter Membership in First Hunt Foundation (FHF)
Congratulations on your interest in forming a new chapter of FHF. During this process, you may contact any of the Officers of the Board of Directors (BOD) of First Hunt Foundation for any clarification that you may need. Please provide as much information as possible. This information will assist us in evaluating your application and in providing service to all FHF chapters.

IV. Official Chapter Address
The address of your chapter may be the home or business address of the President or other officer, or you may wish to have a P.O. Box, where all communications, such as newsletters, various bulletins, membership cards, brochures, etc. will be sent. An E-mail address is also necessary for those communications sent specifically by E-mail.
V. First Hunt Foundation Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Status
First Hunt Foundation, Inc. has qualified for and is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose purposes are charitable in nature. All Chapters in good standing with FHF are included under our IRS nonprofit status exemption EIN # 47-3946789, which became effective on April 30, 2015. Unless stated otherwise in writing, all charters are issued with the express written consent to utilize this 501(c)(3) IRS group exemption. Whereas, all contributions to, and funds raised by FHF chapters are under this exemption and in the name of FHF all such funds are to be used for FHF purposes. All FHF income and expenditures must be accounted for and reported to the FHF Board of Directors on an annual basis. Any financial accounts established for First Hunt Foundation purposes must be pre-approved by the President or Treasurer of the First Hunt Foundation.
FHF is a “not for profit” organization, with all volunteers accomplishing the mission at this time. All dues and many expenses of members are tax deductible. Membership is open to all interested persons who complete this application, pay the specified dues, and meet the requirements of membership, as specified in the bylaws and policies of FHF
VI. FHF Rights and Use:
The Applicants acknowledge and understand that, by recognition as a Chapter, no rights or authority will be conferred by FHF, other than its limited permission to employ the FHF” name and insignia for identification in FHF activities, and such other rights granted by the bylaws of FHF, and to evidence that applicants have agreed to abide by this document and all other uniform rules of operation of the FHF program.
The Applicants agree that at all times, as individuals or as a chapter of FHF, we will operate in strict accordance with all City, State and Federal laws - particularly those governing charitable organizations.
The Applicants acknowledge, if approved for a charter, that the permission granted to employ the names “First Hunt Foundation” will be solely at the pleasure of the Board of Directors. The Applicants agree that we will employ the names of “First Hunt Foundation" only while we continue to be recognized by the Board of Directors as an approved chapter of FHF, and only for purposes related to approved FHF activities. We agree to promptly discontinue the use of “First Hunt Foundation" (as a part of our chapter or name or in any other way) at any time that we are notified to do so or at any time we cease to qualify or be recognized as an approved charter member.
We understand that our FHF Charter remains the property of FHF, and we agree to surrender it on demand. This Charter Agreement is between FHF and the applicant chapter. The terms and conditions stated herein are binding upon the successors, heirs, officers and members of the applicant Chapter. Only the Board of Directors of FHF may modify this agreement by advance written notice to the Chapter at its official address.
VIII. Membership in FHF Chapters
Dues are determined by membership type as documented in the by-laws of FHF
INDIVIDUAL: An adult member whose name is registered with FHF as a paid up regular member in good standing of the chapter. ($15/year)
COUPLE: Two adults in the same household and whose names are registered with FHF as paid up members in good standing of the chapter. ($20/year)
YOUTH: Any individual under the age of 18 and whose name is registered with FHF as a YOUTH member in good standing of the chapter. FREE
There is no difference in status between Individual, Couple and Youth memberships.
CORPORATE: Three Levels- Bronze ($100-$999), Gold ($1000-$2499) & Platinum ($2500+)
LANDOWNER: Free if hunting access provided (Otherwise same as Individual membership)
IX. Chapter Recognition Terms and Agreement
The Applicants agree to the following operational terms and conditions of this charter agreement. We (applicants) agree:
To submit any and all chapter fees upon request by the Board of Directors, and to pay all debts for goods and services to FHF on a timely basis;
To submit chapter members’ complete name, address and personal data as requested by the BOD with annual renewals or upon change;
To annually submit a list of all Chapter officers, their complete name, position and
term of office;
To notify the BOD immediately of change of chapter address;
To provide upon request, copies of chapter meeting minutes, newsletter items, financial records, and other details of team activities;
To support the purposes of FHF; and
To further the growth of FHF by fostering interaction and cooperation between FHF chapters and promoting the goals of FHF in our designated area.
X. Indemnification and Hold Harmless
The Applicants understand and hereby agree that recognition of our charter, if granted, shall in no way authorize us to bind, obligate or act for FHF, or the Board of Directors, or other personnel assigned by the organization. We acknowledge that the members of our chapter accept sole responsibility for all acts or omissions of our chapter and/or its members. Therefore, we agree to indemnify and hold harmless FHF and its officers for any acts by our chapter.
XI. Suspension, Termination, and Charter Dissolution
The Applicants understand and agree that recognition as an approved Charter may be suspended or terminated by FHF. The grounds for suspension or termination shall include (but not be limited to) any of the following:
Failure to maintain the requisite membership, scale of activity, or necessary resources;
Failure to adhere to our undertakings contained in this Application and the by-laws and Policies of FHF including non-payment of chapter fees, or annual dues for chapter members;
Upon the dissolution or termination of the Charter the chapter shall: pay or make provision for the payment of all the chapter’s liabilities, and disburse all of the assets of the Team by donation to FHF, or donation to a like organization approved by FHF and as required by current IRS 501(c)(3) regulations (or the tax laws in your country if outside USA). A full, complete audited accounting statement of disbursements shall be submitted to the BOD of FHF within 45 days of dissolution.
FHF reserves the right to amend, alter, change, or repeal any provision obtained herein in the manner now or hereafter prescribed by law, and all rights conferred to FHF Chapters and members herein are granted subject to this reservation.
Supplementary Information to support an Application for a Charter
1. A listing of member’s contact information, and a short summary of experience and ability of the potential officers. Note: All background checks of the new chapter’s officers must be completed prior to approval of a Charter by FHF
2. A proposed annual Calendar of Events/Activities indicating a reasonable promise of success. (Not necessary to fill every month at first; list the events/activities you are able to sponsor and will work toward implementing going forward).
3. Establishment of an organizational expense fund and proof of a record of such fund, indicating adequate capital structure and liquidity to ensure debt responsibilities can be met going forward.
4. A written acknowledgment by new chapter officers of Common Bond by Association, including acceptance of, and willingness to adhere to FHF by-laws.
Acceptance The Applicant, ________________________________________ Chapter First Hunt Foundation, hereby authorizes the acceptance of this Agreement with First Hunt Foundation, to be recognized as a FHF Chapter and receive all rights and benefits provided for as an approved Charter Member.
