Montana First Hunt on the Front

  Oct 31 2024

The First Hunt on the Front is an annual event by the First Hunt Foundation. Each year, 5 lucky new or novice hunters are invited to spend the weekend at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch, hosted by the First Hunt Foundation and Boone and Crocket Club. New hunters will be joined by their mentors (provided by the First Hunt Foundation). The weekend will focus on shooting and hunting skills, conservation and will culminate by hunting on private ranches bordering the ranch. Applications are being accepted and participants will be selected by the First Hunt Foundation's National Leadership.

All mentoring, before, during and after the event, is provided at no cost to the new/novice hunter. Lodging and meals are included at no cost to hunters and their parent or legal guardian, if a minor.

New/novice hunters must not have previously harvested a deer, have completed hunters education and hold a hunting license and deer tag. Selection priority given to youth (under 18). Youth must have a parent or legal guardian attend. Lodging and food provided at no cost. ALL ACTIVITIES PROVIDED FREE OF COST TO NEW/NOVICE HUNTER.

The First Hunt Foundation is a National non-profit 501(c)(3), with the mission to “Keep the Hunting Heritage Alive.” We have mentors throughout the United States that have selflessly volunteered their time to support this mission. Every mentor passes a vigorous background check and agrees to the ‘Mentor’s Creed’, to participate in our programs.
